The Old Man of Hoy

My second Orkney monochrome is this one of the Old Man of Hoy.

As with the Stones of Stenness it measures 9" x 12" and has been done on 300g/m2 watercolour paper.

The Standing Stones of Stenness

Having done very little painting since 2009 I started a couple of works based on my Orkney roots in January 2012. This one is a monochrome of the Standing Stones of Stenness. It is 9" x 12" and has been done on 300g/m2 watercolour paper

Peace and Tranquility

After a long break I picked up my brushes briefly in 2010 to create this painting. It measures 9" x 12" and is done on watercolour board.

The scene itself is of a fantasy landscape providing a sense of tranquility as the name suggests.

Orkney Triptych - Sold

The three components of this set make up a triptych using scenes from Orkney. Framed and side by side they make up a nice scene approximately 1200mm x 420mm.

Stenness Church and the Barnstone

Also done for a friend on commission this painting shows the church in Orkney where many of our common ancestors were baptised, married and buried. In front of it is a standing stone called the Barnstone.
